[ET Net News Agency, 18 June 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$181.93
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$23.83 billion, or 13.1% of the market's
turnover. There were 704 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.23 billion and HK$1.01 billion, or 5.15%
and 4.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 19.58%
and 13.17% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$886.92 million and HK$694.11
million of short sales, accounting for 3.72% and 2.91% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 14.5% and 34.63% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$2.6, or 2.26%, to HK$112.2. TENCENT ended down HK$5.5, or 1.07%,
to HK$508. MEITUAN-W fell HK$4.8, or 3.48% to HK$133.3. BYD COMPANY declined by HK$1.5, or
1.16%, to HK$127.5.
