[ET Net News Agency, 23 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$165.23 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$22.37 billion, or 13.54% of the
market's turnover. There were 729 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.9 billion and HK$2.57
billion, or 12.97% and 11.5% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 23.7% and 22.32% of respective stock's turnover.
BIDU-SW (09888) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$1.21 billion and HK$929.87 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.41% and 4.16% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 38.62% and 32.08% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.2, or 0.74%, to HK$26.76. BABA-W ended down HK$1.1, or
0.69%, to HK$158.1. BIDU-SW fell HK$10.3, or 7.59% to HK$125.4. MEITUAN-W declined by
HK$2.6, or 2.5%, to HK$101.3.
