[ET Net News Agency, 24 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$150.92 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$21.43 billion, or 14.2% of the
market's turnover. There were 722 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.38 billion and HK$1.79
billion, or 25.1% and 8.33% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 24.58% and 38.11% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$850.15 million and HK$801.05 million
of short sales, accounting for 3.97% and 3.74% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 17% and 35.51% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$10.2, or 6.4%, to HK$169.6. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.24, or 0.9%,
to HK$27.04. TENCENT rose HK$9.5, or 1.49% to HK$645. BIDU-SW declined by HK$0.7, or
0.55%, to HK$127.7.
