[ET Net News Agency, 26 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$165.49 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.79 billion, or 12.56% of the
market's turnover. There were 750 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.15 billion and HK$1.62
billion, or 10.35% and 7.79% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 18.81% and 13.35% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.57 billion and HK$1.11 billion of
short sales, accounting for 7.55% and 5.32% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 29.03% and 19.11% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$2.9, or 1.69%, to HK$169.1. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$3.25, or 5.47%,
to HK$56.2. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.6, or 0.62% to HK$95.9. TENCENT declined by HK$2.5, or
0.38%, to HK$647.5.
