HK$127.14 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.24 billion, or 12.77% of the
market's turnover. There were 711 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.48 billion and HK$1.03
billion, or 9.12% and 6.34% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 15.65% and 14.46% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$744.98 million and HK$624.08 million of
short sales, accounting for 4.59% and 3.84% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 17.94% and 13.17% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.46, or 1.77%, to HK$26.5. BABA-W ended up HK$4.7, or 2.97%,
to HK$163.2. TENCENT rose HK$15, or 2.38% to HK$644. SMIC jumped HK$3.55, or 4.95%, to
HK$75.25.
