HK$234.65 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$34.25 billion, or 14.59% of the
market's turnover. There were 745 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.26 billion and HK$2.14
billion, or 6.6% and 6.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 16.63% and 14.61% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and HSCEI ETF (02828) registered HK$1.66 billion and HK$1.52 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.85% and 4.45% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 19.83% and 32.16% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$6.5, or 4.1%, to HK$165. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.56, or 2.15%, to
HK$26.6. TENCENT rose HK$15, or 2.38% to HK$644. HSCEI ETF jumped HK$1.96, or 2.09%, to
HK$95.54.
