[ET Net News Agency, 2 February 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$178.12 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$23.84 billion, or 13.38% of the
market's turnover. There were 809 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and
XL2CSOPHSTECH (07226) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.14 billion and
HK$1 billion, or 13.19% and 4.21% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 33.36% and 75.38% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$981.81 million and HK$928.16
million of short sales, accounting for 4.12% and 3.89% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 17.57% and 29.33% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.64, or 2.32%, to HK$26.96. XL2CSOPHSTECH ended down
HK$0.385, or 7.09%, to HK$5.045. HSCEI ETF fell HK$2.5, or 2.62% to HK$92.88. BYD COMPANY
declined by HK$7.65, or 7.83%, to HK$90.1.
