[ET Net News Agency, 5 February 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$168.25 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$29.95 billion, or 17.8% of the
market's turnover. There were 786 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.64 billion and HK$2.05
billion, or 18.83% and 6.86% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 45.55% and 35.13% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.92 billion and HK$1.12 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.4% and 3.75% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 7.84% and 15.85% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.38, or 1.4%, to HK$26.7. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.94, or
1.01%, to HK$91.74. TENCENT fell HK$16, or 2.87% to HK$542. BABA-W declined by HK$3.9, or
2.45%, to HK$155.6.
