[ET Net News Agency, 6 February 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$139.46 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$25.87 billion, or 18.55% of the
market's turnover. There were 797 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and TENCENT
(00700) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.41 billion and HK$1.74
billion, or 17.06% and 6.71% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 67.23% and 15.5% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.42 billion and HK$697.7 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.5% and 2.7% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 21.09% and 7.92% of respective stock's turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed down HK$0.015, or 0.28%, to HK$5.265. TENCENT ended down HK$5, or
0.9%, to HK$553.5. BABA-W fell HK$4.1, or 2.57% to HK$155.5. TRACKER FUND declined by
HK$0.32, or 1.18%, to HK$26.78.
